The honest status in three sentences
Mainnet is a beta: today two nodes and three launch witnesses are running, all run by the operator, and there is no signed release for outsiders yet. A mix network, in which nodes collect other people's traffic and forward it shuffled, does not exist; Mainnet is built on Tor and only makes learning from timing and volume harder. There is no external audit.
What is built, what is tested and what is only a goal is stated per chapter in the whitepaper; the short version is on How Mainnet works.
